Low literacy and communication skills have been identified in studies as major contributors to general conduct disorders, psychiatric disorders, criminal  behavior and adolescent suicide.

To live and prosper in this society, all of us must be lifelong learners, with access to knowledge and skills that can sustain our lives at work, at home, and in our communities.

The estimated cost of illiteracy to taxpayers and businesses is $20 billion per year.  Why pay more taxes when you can make a personal difference to increase literacy?

For a tax deductible donation of only $99, Be the Star You Are! will ship a box of brand new books valued between $400-600 to the charity of your choice anywhere within the continental United States.   Be the Star You Are! a 501(c)(3) charity promotes positive role models, positive media, and donates positive books to increase literacy to groups in need.

You may send books to as many organizations as you wish with each minimum donation of $99.  Get your company involved. Ask them to match your donation. Adopt a local charity and give them the gift that keeps on giving-books.
