A giant thank you to all of our volunteers, supporters, book contributors, and colleagues for celebrating 2009 with us. We launched our new book, Be the Star You Are!® for TEENS, celebrated our 10th anniversary with a successful Books and Bands Bash, participated in numerous community events, distributed approximately $50000 of resources to other charities, interviewed  128 guests on our radio show, reviewed  45 books, hosted 2 essay contests, and designed T-shirts! We couldn’t have accomplished so much in such a short time without your help and support. We are truly grateful.

Are you 71 or older? Make a tax free gift! 

If you are 71 or over, you can make a tax-free gift to Be the Star You Are!® from your traditional IRA. The advantage for you is that you don’t pay income tax on the amount of the gift and you may give up to $100,000 tax free per traditional IRA owner, per year.

Because this is a distribution to charity, it is not taxed. There's no difference between paying income tax and declaring a deduction, on one hand, and not paying income tax and not getting a deduction, on the other. Tell your traditional IRA administrator that you want to make a "qualified charitable distribution" to us and give him or her our federal tax ID, 94-3333-88-2, and our legal name, Be the Star You Are!® 501c3 non profit corporation.
