that everybody is enjoying the bright sunshine! This month has been an
incredibly
exciting and special period for Be The Star You Are!
First,
our charity participated in the biggest event of the year, the Moraga
Community Affair, which was held on May 10th. The event turned out to
be a real success as we gained over $400 in donations. Special thanks
to our sponsor, Andrew Norleen from Soundworks www.soundworks.com.
The donations will be contributed to Be The Star You Are!
Literacy enhancement program for youth at risk all around the country.
We thank our community and sponsors who made our events fun for us and
everybody else. I cannot forget to thank all the wonderful teen
volunteers who participated. The
enthusiastic teens mostly helped out with face-painting and paint-a-pot,
which were the most popular and successful activities. Again, Be The
Star You Are wants to thank all the teen volunteers, such as Kiersten
Albert, Lindsey Aronson, Max Miao, Brooke Wieser, Jacquline Tao,
Natasha Malhotra, Yukun Zhang, Sammy Griffin, Meghan Roberison, Ryann
Bull, Jackie Lacommare, Rristiana Meyer, Dana Johnson and Teresa Paz.
Thank you all! You guys were amazing!
Additionally,
we are still looking for new volunteers, who would like to organize web
sites, such as Facebook and Myspace. Please contact us if you are
interested! Also, we are still looking for new book reviewers,
so please email me if you love writing and reading!

Another note, Pear Festival is coming up very soon. The event was a
real success last
summer, and we are hoping that it will be even more successful this
year. We will be sending out emails to all teen volunteers. If you are

Our
volunteer computer specialist, Evan Omo was able to get a computer
donated from Northgate High School in Walnut Creek. It’s old (from
2000) and he hasn’t connected us to the internet yet, but it will be
better than our 1998 one until we get a newer donation. We thank Evan
and Northgate High School for their contribution. Thank you all!
