gardening, finance, success, business skills, children, philosophy,
and adventures. The theme song was written and sung by the

to the STAR TEEN BOOK REVIEW TEAM.
If you enjoy reading and writing, this is a wonderful
volunteer opportunity for you.
IMPORTANT
GUIDELINES:
You
must come to our offices at 1660 School St. #101D in Moraga to pick
up the books. We do not ship them.

Take
only the number of books you can review within 30 days.

Each
review must have the following at the top of your page in BOLD:
Book
Title,
Book Author,
Reviewed by: Your
Name, Age,
Star
Teen Book Reviewer of Be the Star You Are!® Charity.
A book review template is attached. PLEASE FOLLOW the
directions.

Your
review should be 3-4 paragraphs, well written where you will
give a short synopsis of the story, write what you liked and
what you didn’t like. Let us know what age group you feel this
book is most appropriate as a target audience. Would you suggest
that a person buy this book as a gift, or is this a book to get
from the library.? Anything else you want to write about the
book is appreciated.
Again, your review MUST be three -four paragraphs.

Check
for spelling and grammar. You want to make a great
impression. DO NOT copy any material from the flaps, back
cover, or anywhere in the book. The publishers notice this.
These reviews are published, making you a published reviewer, so
please take pride in your work and in being a member of our
select STAR TEEN BOOK
REVIEW TEAM.

When
you are finished with a review, please email a WORD attachment
to cynthia@star-style.com.

Print
out a hard copy of your review, return the book and your review
to the box outside the office door.

NEVER
WRITE IN THE BOOKS! If the book requires exercises or questions
to be answered, please do them on a separate piece of paper.
Your
review will then be sent to the publisher and to The Reading Tub
where, if accepted, will be published on the web site. You then
become a published writer.

is a volunteer project and as such may garner community service
credits at your school. If you need a form signed indicating that
you participated in this program, we are happy to give you a

publish your reviews and use them as empowerment tools for teachers,

For a year following the devastating tragedy of 9/11, Be the Star
You Are!™ volunteers collected and shipped over 50 crates of
books, programs, puzzles, CDs, tapes, and other materials valued at
over $70,000 to the New York Fire Department Family Services
Division to assist the families of victims. Click

 EADING
SPELLS SUCCESS
(Completed).
Volunteers bring books from the organization's media library to
hospitals, shelters, and children's groups, and read for periods of
an hour at a time. Stories are discussed and books are given
as a gift for those in attendance so that they can increase their
awareness and literacy aptitude. This program currently is
offering the resources only to other literacy organizations to use.

Cynthia Brian, our
