life while igniting the flame that is already inside you. On
Be the Star You Are!™, celebrities, authors, publishers, and media
personalities are our guests. The topics include lifestyles,
personal growth, animals, show business, health, travel, design,
gardening, finance, success, business skills, children, philosophy,
and adventures. The theme song was written and sung by the
legendary Frankie Laine. This show encourages literacy.

VIDEO and AUDIO DISTRIBUTION
Charities and non- profits in need of
resources contact us, fill out a form describing who they serve and
what their needs are. The application is available on our web site,
and is reviewed by our volunteers. After approval, appropriate books
are sent to the group. Cost is $99 for $500 worth of books which
includes shipping within the United States. A feedback form is
enclosed so that we can track our progress and the success of
improving literacy, self-esteem, and empowerment.

up the books. We do not ship them.

only the number of books you can review within 30 days.

review must have the following at the top of your page in BOLD:

review should be 3-4 paragraphs, well written where you will
give a short synopsis of the story, write what you liked and
what you didn’t like. Let us know what age group you feel this
book is most appropriate as a target audience. Would you suggest
that a person buy this book as a gift, or is this a book to get
from the library.? Anything else you want to write about the
book is appreciated.
Again, your review MUST be three -four paragraphs.

cover, or anywhere in the book. The publishers notice this.

to the box outside the office door.

 PERATION
DISASTER RELIEF

In the event of a disaster, Be the Star You Are!® strives to
ease the pain of the victims.
2001-Operation Ground Hero-For a year following the devastating
tragedy of 9/11, Be the Star You Are!®
volunteers collected and shipped over 50 crates of books, programs,
puzzles, CDs, tapes, and other materials valued at over $70,000 to
the New York Fire Department Family Services Division to assist the
families of victims. Click

2005-Operation Hurricane Relief-Once people were fed, housed, and
clothed following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Be the Star You
Are!® volunteers collected, processed, and shipped over $27,000
worth of motivational materials to the Gulf Coast.
2007-Operation Fire Relief- From October through December, 2007
over a dozen wildfires spreading horror across Southern California
forced the evacuation of thousands of residents, with over 2000
homes lost, and numerous people injured. Be the Star You Are!®
wanted to make sure that each child had a gift for the holidays.
Working in conjunction with relief agencies, approximately $10,000
worth of goods were collected and shipped to children.
 EADING
SPELLS SUCCESS
(Completed).
Volunteers bring books from the organization's media library to
hospitals, shelters, and children's groups, and read for periods of
an hour at a time. Stories are discussed and books are given
as a gift for those in attendance so that they can increase their
awareness and literacy aptitude. This program currently is
offering the resources only to other literacy organizations to use.

A POT, PLANT A SEED" COMMUNITY CHILDREN CAUSE
As a metaphor for planting the seeds of
literacy and saving our earth through good stewardship, Be the Star
You Are! with support from Orchard Supply Hardware offers clay pots,
soil, seeds, and a creative painting experience for youth and
seniors at all community events. Founder and avid gardener, Cynthia
Brian, created this popular program which has become a community
staple.
