Because reading is important, Be the Star You Are! has teamed up with The Reading Tub™ to help parents, teachers, and librarians recommend books that children and youth will enjoy reading. Our volunteer book reviewers are part of the STAR TEEN BOOK REVIEW TEAM which is chaired by youth dedicated to literacy.  If you are interested in being a book reviewer, please email cynthiATbethestaryouare.org.

STAR TEEN BOOK REVIEWER
A fun and rewarding volunteer position for young people who enjoy reading and writing.  Open to all ages.   Publishers send books to Be the Star You Are!® which they want reviewed.  A review needs to only be a couple of paragraphs with information on the content of the book, who it’s target audience would be, and personal observations or opinions about the story.  All books must be picked up in the Be the Star You Are!® office located in Moraga, then returned to the office after book is completed accompanied by a hard copy of the review,.  Reviews are to be sent to Cynthia Brian via email so that they can be forwarded to the publishers and The Reading Tub™ which publishes each review.  Each review must include the first name of the reviewer (last name, if you wish), and age.  This is a wonderful opportunity to become a published writer.    Book reviews are due within 4 weeks of assignment.  Publishers are looking for honest feedback, therefore they want both the positive and negative comments and personal opinions.
