Two oil paintings by Armand Cabrera have been generously donated to our
auction by Armand and his agent, Diane Burket. Here are the details:
Armand Cabrera’s paintings reflect the
skill and discipline gathered from years of experience as a successful
production artist in the computer games industry where he created conceptual
designs, background art, special effects animation and storyboarding.
Now a full time fine artist, he has become a dedicated landscape painter.
Armand paints in the alla prima style, completing his work in one sitting.
Born in San Francisco in 1955, Armand currently makes his home in beautiful
Marin County, California where he is inspired by a wealth of visual information.
In his spare time, Armand teaches plein air and studio painting
workshops.
Armand
has been a finalist in the National Arts for the Parks Competition three years
in a row and has had numerous group and one man exhibitions. He has
been featured in Art of the West and Southwest Art Magazines and
was honored as an "Artist to Watch" in Southwest Art. His
professional memberships include being an artist member of the Rocky Mountain
Plein Air Painters, the California Art Club, the Allied Artists Professional
League and the Oil Painters of America. He is represented by fine art
galleries across the United States.

Alice Abruzzini has donated a box
of vintage Christmas cards with their envelopes and stamps dating from the
early 1940’s –1980’s addressed to Fred Abruzzini, Winemaster of Beringer
Brothers Winery, St. Helena Ca.
Fred,
who died in 1986,
has been called “The Father of the Napa Valley” as he was the first
person to initiate visitor tours and wine tastings in the Napa Valley, opening
the underground caves at Beringer Brothers. Movie stars and celebrities from
all over the world celebrated his wines with him, including Clark Gable, Carol
Lombard, Charles Laughton, Max Baer, the Marx brothers, Frankie Laine, Rudy
Vallee, and many many more.
This box is desirable to collectors as well as artisans who like to
create new art out of historical pieces. The
beautiful and ornate cards are not sorted so this is a “buy as is” offer.
Hundreds of
cards, envelopes with their original stamps were included. This is an opportunity to own a piece of Napa Valley history!

We
were pleased to have a beautiful California landscape oil on canvas painting
donated to our silent auction by famed artist, Armand Cabrera and his agent,
Diane Burket. Armand brings to his canvas the insight gathered from years
of experience as a successful production artist.
A dedicated landscape painter, he finishes canvases as large as 24 x 30
on location. Armand’s style is to paint alla prima, completing his paintings
in one sitting in the studio or out of doors.
