BE THE STAR YOU ARE™! is a library of books and other media donated to youth at risk to raise their skills and self esteem to improve their daily lives. This media ranges from education and advisement to inspiration and guidance which covers every aspect of life from abuse through money management. BE THE STAR YOU ARE™! has no religious or political agendas or affiliations as it caters to the literate and illiterate by providing audio tapes and videos as well as books to give these kids a head start in their lives so they can beat the odds.

family, friends, and festivities as the year draws to an end.
How quickly 2002 has passed; so much has transpired in our world and in
our own backyards. It’s hard
for me to believe that BE
THE STAR YOU ARE™!
has been actively serving the community as an all volunteer organization since
1999. I founded this charity
because I firmly believe that all individuals can
live their dreams if they have the opportunity and encouragement to develop a
plan, obtain the skills necessary to create their own destiny, and most of
all, believe in themselves and all their possibilities. It was this desire to
help people enhance their quality of living and experience life’s joy that
has kept me going in the difficult moments when the funds were low and the
debts were high. Somehow we have all muddled through the tough times and have
grown dramatically because of our challenges. BE
THE STAR YOU ARE™!
has
been devoted to the distribution of positive media to empower youth at risk
through literacy. Since our
inception, we have now distributed more than $800,000
in resources (books, tapes, CD’s, and other media) back to communities,
helped over 15,000 individuals and
families within 30 organizations,
including families of the terrible terrorist attacks of September 11, and we
have logged more than 21,000
volunteer hours.
There
were many times I thought we’d have to close our doors, but fortunately
miracles always seemed to appear in our most desperate moments.
I believe BE
THE STAR YOU ARE™!
has a destiny to bring a message of hope and inspiration to our youth.
Thank you to all of you who have supported us with your time, dollars,
in-kind donations, shipping expenses, fundraiser items, expertise and media.
We could not survive without your continued support.
We’re
working on a new business plan and will be enhancing our operations in 2003.
We’ll keep you posted on the new people, projects, and progress as we
grow into a stronger, better, more focused non-profit organization.
As
we approach a new beginning, please consider making a tax-deductible
contribution to assist us in continuing our efforts of serving the young
people who are our future. You
may eliminate some tax obligations and you can be assured we’ll be grateful.

distributes books and other positive media to youth at risk as a way to raise
their life skills and self esteem. This media ranges from education and

Are!™ is an ALL volunteer organization that operates through
contributions, in-kind donations, and proceeds from fund-raising events.
Be the Star You Are!™ does not
receive state or federal funding and is solely dependent on contributions from
the community and corporations. Be the Star You Are!™ has no religious or political agendas or affiliations.

believes that information
infused with inspiration has the power to transform and change lives. BE

is a library of books and other media that empower youth at risk to improve

is committed to providing positive role models for kids to help them grow into
valued citizens. Through its newsletters, web site, radio, TV, and READING
SPELLS SUCCESS literacy outreach programs, BE
THE STAR YOU ARE!™
promotes and distributes its ever-growing list of informative positive videos,
tapes and books to young audiences who would otherwise never obtain these
materials. Recipients of BE
THE STAR YOU ARE!™
products and services include other non profit youth at risk groups, juvenile
hall facilities, youth camps and children's hospitals.

charity offers a refreshing, welcome alternative helping kids beat the
odds encouraging the American Dream.
