OUR MISSION:

Be the Star You Are!™ is a library of books and other media donated to youth at risk to raise their skills and self esteem to improve their daily lives. This media ranges from education and advisement to inspiration and guidance which covers every aspect of life from abuse through money management. Be the Star You Are!™ has no religious or political agendas or affiliations as it caters to the literate and illiterate by providing audio tapes and videos as well as books to give these kids a head start in their lives so they can beat the odds.

SUMMERTIME AWAKENING:

The sun is shining brightly and you realize it is time to stop blaming the world for your woes.  You accept responsibility for your actions while making a decision to move forward with the realization that you deserve to be treated with love, respect, and kindness. Of course, you must also treat others the same way.  Slowly you learn that in life you get what you believe you deserve.  The Law of Attraction indicates that what you think about and talk about comes about.  In other words, life is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Once you understand why you have feelings of anger, envy, resentment, or frustration, you can reframe your feelings, be thankful for the little things, and redirect your negativity into positive doing.  Anything worth achieving is worth working for. Sometimes our time lines are out of sync with reality.  Keep pushing forward knowing that you can’t stop the river, going with the flow while avoiding the big rocks.  Have patience, courage, and perseverance.  Face your fears, knowing that life is not fair, it just is. Bad and sad things happen to everyone regardless of economic or social standings, gender, age, race, or religion.

We are all in this boat called LIFE together. It’s not how fast we paddle that will determine our future, it’s how cooperative we are with one another that will decide our final landing.  Design the life you want to live before life designs one for you.

LAUGH and DONATE at our first ever COMEDY NIGHT!

Join us at  "Be the Star You Are!™ at 50 Mason" A Charity Benefit on Saturday, June 26 from 7pm –10:30pm with family fun and laughs.  50 Mason aka SF Comedy Club is the newest San Francisco venue to host comedy showcases on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 8-10:30. Performers include some of the finest Bay Area comedians.

What’s Included:

Your advanced purchase ticket donation includes: the Comedy Showcase, munchies, one drink, book sale and signing with best selling author, Cynthia Brian, exciting raffles and silent auction including original works from Armand Cabrera an award-winning oil painter.

Ticket Prices:

Regular Seating: $25 per person if purchased before May 1st, at the door (space available only) $35 per person.

Front Row Seating at a table, 3 people per table: $30 and up.

The comedy is rated PG 13 so bring the family, your friends, teachers, and anyone who wants to enjoy a good time laughing!

Program:

7-8pm:  Finger foods, drinks (one drink ticket given at entrance, cash bar available), music, book sale and signing, raffles and silent auction.  Raffle tickets are $5.00 for one, $10.00 for three, and $20.00 for seven.  When you buy $20 worth of raffle tickets you are an AUTOMATIC WINNER of your choice of raffle prizes.

Our spring distribution of resources to our numerous beneficiaries is complete, we’ve re-stocked our library, and now we are busily gearing up for the fun Comedy Night Benefit happening in San Francisco at the SF Comedy Club/50 Mason on Saturday June 26.
