Cynthia Brian interviews author, Jack Bialik, for his thought -provoking book, Lost in Time. Lost in Time examines the fragile nature of human knowledge and the forces—be they war, natural disasters, or changing priorities—that contribute to its disappearance. Bialik highlights just how easily our knowledge can literally vanish, with the burning of the Library of Alexandria in Egypt that possessed nearly half a million scrolls and the destruction of the ancient Mayan civilization’s written records, to name just two of many such losses.
The makeup of the American family is shifting. Many are living without the traditional support of spouses or children. According to Pew Research, just 23% of people view marriage and parenthood as central to a successful life. Fertility rates have declined to 1.6 children from 2.5. The times “they are a changing.”
Bio: Jack Bialik
Jack Bialik has a unique understanding of global cultures/systems after living in many states and countries. He's had a life dedicated to engineering, innovation and tnquiry into how societies manage knowledge.
Jack has a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for the Air Force, Motorola and ran a crypto business. He participated in a White House Program for the expansion of critical digital infrastructure. His worked on the installation of water purification systems in Haiti.
Jack is now dedicated to raising awareness about human knowledge—how to preserve it for future generations. This is at the core of Lost In Time: Our Forgotten and Vanishing Knowledge. He aims to spark a global conversation and inspire meaningful action.
