Human trafficking is a global crime worth about $150 billion dollars per year that is happening in our own communities. Because human trafficking is not talked about as often as all the other atrocious events on the news, many people don’t understand what it is along with the physical, psychological and social impacts on the trafficked individual. Brigitte and Siri interview LeAnn Hull discussing LeAnn’s journey to create Andy Hull’s Sunshine Foundation after the suicide of her son with the goal of sparing others of the pain and anguish of suicide. Her book is How to Live when You want to Die. LeAnn advocates active listening to those around us as they may be crying our for help. Impacting many children, teens and adults, the Foundation talks about coping skills, triggers, and tools to use during difficult times, all with a “You Matter” approach. Bio: LeAnn Hull
LeAnn Hull was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona and has been married for 39 years, raising four children. Never at a loss for words, the opportunity for her to run for Congress provided a platform to voice her desires for a greater business community and better fiscal responsibility in our country. After many campaign speeches and debates, it became evident that speaking was one of LeAnn’s gifts and passions. Having the ability to make a difference in people’s lives through inspiration and motivation was extremely satisfying.
Andy Hull’s Sunshine Foundation was created in 2013 to raise awareness of suicide prevention while providing coping skills to deal with life’s challenges. Within months of her son Andy’s transition, LeAnn Hull established Andy Hull’s Sunshine Foundation,
inspired by her son’s nickname. The Foundation has sparked a worldwide movement with their yellow “YOU MATTER” wristbands. To date, over 200,000 wristbands have been distributed, at no cost. With suicide rates rising, the wristbands
